Carrie Underwood Will Perform “America The Beautiful” At Donald Trump’s Inauguration
Several of Carrie Underwood‘s albums have climbed up the iTunes chart before her upcoming performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Underwood was one of the first artists confirmed to be performing for Trump’s inauguration. She will sing “America the Beautiful” during his swearing-in ceremony on Monday, January 20. The Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club will accompany Underwood’s performance.
The future American Idol judge released a statement about the inauguration, saying:
“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
The news about Underwood’s performance at the inauguration was met with some backlash online. Angry fans vowed to boycott Underwood’s music because of the performance.
Others praised Underwood for agreeing to participate in the inauguration ceremony. One of her most vocal supporters has been fellow country artist John Rich. He also called out other country stars who support Trump but have kept quiet.

As of 10:15 AM ET on Friday (January 17), three of Underwood’s albums are in the Top 20 on the iTunes country albums chart. Two of those albums are within the Top 10.
