‘Woo hoo!’ Beth Cordingly thrilled by exciting development to Emmerdale role

Emmerdale’s Beth Cordingly was left grinning from ear-to-ear after she set her sights on the car that she would be driving for a scene as Ruby Fox-Miligan.

The actress, who portrays Ruby on the ITV soap, took to Instagram to share her glee with fans upon making the discovery.

‘LOOK at Ruby’s car,’ she wrote on the social media platform, sharing a video of the moment she found out that she would be getting behind that very wheel.

‘Is that my car’, she asked of a colleague in the short clip. Upon receiving confirmation, Beth smiled, showing an up close view of the Mercedes as she struggled to hide her excitement.

The former star of The Bill subsequently shared another clip, telling driver Howard that the director had told her she ‘should be a stunt driver’.

Howard quipped that she drove the vehicle ‘like she stole it’.

Beth is currently at the centre of a huge Emmerdale storyline after it came to light that Ruby was sexually abused by her own father Anthony (Nicholas Day) when she was 16 years old.

Anthony is therefore the biological father of her daughter Steph (Georgia Jay).

The abuser is killed off in harrowing scenes this week as part of a whodunit and, with suspects and motive aplenty, any one of the villagers could be to blame.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
